Rugby trio Try Star are set for quite the first performance on the Celebrity X Factor’s live shows.
The new-look X Factor brings together stars from the worlds of music, film, sport, television and social media as they compete to win a life-changing recording contract.
This weekend sees the live shows begin as the top contestants from the auditions sing for the judges and viewer votes.
One of the acts performing will be Try Star, made up of rugby players Thom Evans, Ben Foden and Levi Davis.
According to The Sun newspaper, they’re set to perform a Magic Mike inspired routine to Ginuwine’s worldwide hit Pony.
“The lads are going all-out with a striptease routine. They are even wearing leather,” a source shared. “At first, bosses loved their idea. But as rehearsals continue, the routines have got racier.
“They’re worried there could be Ofcom complaints if they don’t tone down the hip thrusts.”
The Celebrity X Factor kicked off in Los Angeles where the celebrities first met at The X Factor’s palatial HQ and prepare to audition for judges Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh and Nicole Scherzinger at Simon’s Malibu home in front of big names from the music industry.
Mr Saturday Night himself, Dermot O’Leary, is on hand to provide support and oversee proceedings.
Simon is mentoring the groups which alongside Try Star include reality stars Samira Mighty, Zara McDermott, Wes Nelson and Eyal Booker who form The Islanders; Social Media Stars and CBBC Presenters Max and Harvey and Influencers Sofia, Alondra, Laura, Wendii and Natalie who make up V5.
The X Factor: Celebrity live shows start this Saturday night at 8:20PM on ITV.
The celebrities will sing live for both the judges and viewer votes with the winner getting a record deal.
Fans will be able to vote for their favourite for free via the official X Factor app.
