Britain’s Got Talent’s David Walliams reveals just how competitive Simon Cowell is

David Walliams has revealed just how competitive Simon Cowell is on Britain’s Got Talent.

Appearing on ITV’s Lorraine this week, David claimed Simon’s need to win even went as far as their children.

“Simon Cowell is so competitive, he’s competitive about every thing you can be about,” David said.

He told the show: “He even said to me one day, ‘Who do you think is better looking? My son or your son? I said, ‘Well my son is obviously better looking but the good thing is you’re rich so you can pay for your son to have plastic surgery.’

“He said to his partner, ‘Lauren, Lauren, David said Eric needs plastic surgery.'”

David then laughed: “There’s nothing we wouldn’t say to each other. We’re like brothers, it’s a happy relationship and genuine.”

As well as kids, the pair have also been involved in a tongue-in-cheek rivalry over David’s two National TV Awards.

Simon said previously: “This may sound like sour grapes, but I’m going to say it…he canvasses all year long! I found him once sending out tweets begging and pleading, I’ve never done that before, maybe I should. He’s not the most popular judge, he just isn’t!

“Being around everyone, you’ve got Ant and Dec and now David. I know what’s coming next – it’ll be Alesha and Amanda. I will literally be the only person without anything. I can see this one coming. It’s annoying, it really is, and they don’t let it go!”

Meanwhile, David said: “It’s nice winning a National Television Award because it’s voted for by the public. Simon is very competitive so it was nice to beat him. I think we were both beaten by Mary Berry a couple of years ago, but I think it gets to Simon because he’s a very competitive person. Anything that makes him unhappy, makes me happy!”

Britain’s Got Talent 2018 airs Saturday nights on ITV.
