Britain’s Got Talent winner Tokio Myers teams up with The Voice’s Jazmin Sawyers

Britain’s Got Talent winner Tokio Myers has teamed up with The Voice’s Jazmin Sawyers.

Tokio won BGT last year while Jazmin Sawyers, a silver medallist in the long jump, appeared on The Voice in 2017 where she was knocked out at the battles.

The pair have worked together on this year’s Commonwealth Games song, a unique version of the hymn Jerusalem.

The song will be out next week and will be performed at the games when they begin in April in Australia.

It’ll be the second time that Tokio performs in front of the royal family after his appearance on the Royal Variety Show last year.

He joked to The Sun: “As it will be my second show for royalty, that should get me knighted, right? Or at least an invite to Meghan and Harry’s wedding?”

The song follows Britain’s Got Talent’s Tokio releasing his debut album last November.

It was pianist Tokio Myers who won Britain’s Got Talent 2017, winning a spot on the Royal Variety Show and £250,000 in cash.

He beat magician Issy Simpson and comic Daliso Chaponda in the final, and has since been signed by Simon Cowell’s Syco record label.

Tokio put his own album out called Our Generation on November 17.

And talking to the The Sun, Tokio revealed hopes of working on future music with Stormzy.

“I met him when we did the Grenfell song and he was a big fan of what I was doing. We talked about me possibly producing an album. I don’t know what’s going to happen but Stormzy is a f***ing legend,” he told the tabloid.

Britain’s Got Talent will return to ITV for series 12 in 2018.
