Britain’s Got Talent winner Colin Thackery to donate prize money

Britain’s Got Talent winner Colin Thackery has revealed his plans for the prize money.

It was singer Colin who won Britain’s Got Talent 2019 last night, beating magician X in the final vote.

He won a £250,000 cash prize and a spot at the Royal Variety Show.

Speaking after his victory on Britain’s Got More Talent, Colin said he would be donating part of his winnings to the Royal Hospital Chelsea.

He said: “I live in a wonderful place and I want to make a donation to that.”

And Colin confessed his entire BGT journey all started as a dare.

He explained: “I can’t believe this has happened. It all started as a dare a year ago.

“One of the guys as I was coming off the stage at our club having sung after the curry lunch…he said ‘when are you going to do it? Would you go on Britain’s Got Talent?’

“I said ‘don’t be silly’.”

Colin later admitted: “I’m completely befuddled. I really can’t get over it. I suppose it’ll take several days before it really sinks in.

“I’ve had a wonderful time and I can’t thank everyone enough.

“The crew of BGT have been superb, every single one of them and I have great respect for them and the general public who voted for me.”

Alongside Colin and X, the other BGT finalists were wildcard act, dancers Libby and Charlie, stuntman Jonathan Goodwin, magician Ben Hart, singer Mark McMullan, comedian Kojo Anim, Magic dog act Dave & Finn, singing and dancing group Flakefleet Primary School, magicians 4MG and comedy singer Siobhan Phillips.

Colin won the final with 25% of the final vote having previously won the third semi-final with almost 30% of the vote.
