Britain’s Got Talent contestant Jenny Darren has been reprimanded by show bosses.
Jenny, a 68-year-old retiree from Birmingham, living in the Cotswolds, appeared on the show at the weekend.
At the latest auditions, Jenny surprised the judges as she rocked out to ‘Highway to Hell’ by AC/DC in the latest auditions.
It saw Jenny get four yeses through to the next round, and potentially onto the live shows.
However she’s faced a telling off after allegedly playlisting apparently distasteful videos on YouTube.
The Sun reports on clips supposedly liked by her account online that contained offensive material concerning sexuality and religion.
An insider claimed to the tabloid that producers were left “fuming” and accused Jenny of “setting an extremely bad example for her followers.”
“It’s most senior execs have discussed her future on BGT and have given her a huge telling-off,” they added.
A spokesperson for the show told the newspaper: “Any prejudicial language or behaviour is abhorrent to everyone involved in BGT, which is an inclusive show.
“As a result, Jenny Darren has been reprimanded by producers regarding her previous statements, and has been warned over her future conduct. She has profusely apologised.”
Jenny said earlier this week she hoped appearing on Britain’s Got Talent would allow her to be a “professional” again.
The singer had a record album out in the 1970s but never made it big.
“It’d be lovely to be a professional again, because that’s what I used to be,” she said. “I want to get out there and do it properly.”
Britain’s Got Talent continues Saturday nights on ITV.
