Former Strictly pro Brendan Cole is reportedly set for the Celebrity X Factor with Hollyoaks star Jeremy Edwards.
Brendan was a professional dancer on BBC One’s Strictly from the first series up until last year.
Now Brendan is said to be in talks for a very different TV project, apparently teaming up with actor Jeremy Edwards for the Celebrity X Factor.
Jeremy is best known for playing Kurt Benson in Hollyoaks as well as his roles on Holby City and Millie Inbetween.
According to The Sun newspaper, Brendan could be about to swap the dancefloor for a microphone and sing with Jeremy as part of a duo on the show.
“Brendan has a huge fanbase from Strictly, and Jeremy has been on some of the biggest soaps in the country so they’re hopeful they will go far,” claimed a source.
They shared: “Initially it started out as a bit of a novelty idea but they’re really enjoying it and have started to feel pretty optimistic about making a mark on the show.
“They’ve already filmed their first scenes, so there’s no going back — but Strictly probably won’t be too impressed when they find out he has jumped on board with their biggest rival after all those years.”
A Celebrity X Factor series was first announced by Simon Cowell in February.
Although exact details are still to be confirmed, other names recently rumoured for this year’s X Factor series include The Chase star Jenny ‘The Vixen’ Ryan and even a group of Love island stars.
Reports claim that former Islanders Zara McDermott, Eyal Booker, Wes Nelson and Samira Mighty are set to team up to sing in the competition.
More potential celebrity X Factor contestants could include Corrie star Lucy Fallon, chat show icon Ricki Lake, Love Actually star Olivia Olson, reality sensation Gemma Collins, TV personality Megan McKenna and actor John Barrowman.
Also linked to the show have been footballer turned actor Vinnie Jones, EastEnders star Jacqueline Jossa and even BGT judge Amanda Holden.
According to further rumours, the winner of Celebrity’s X Factor series is set to scoop a record deal – just like the regular version.
