The Great British Bake Off judge Prue Leith says she considered signing up for the new series of Dancing On Ice – until her team told her she’s too OLD.
Prue has become one of the most talked-about names on TV after replacing Mary Berry on the popular baking contest.
Now it seems she’s in demand for other reality shows, as Prue has revealed that she was approached for Dancing On Ice, which is returning to ITV in 2018 after four years off air.
“I was asked if I would do Dancing On Ice,” she confessed to the Daily Star.
“I thought it’d be the perfect way to get fit, lose a lot of weight and learn a new skill.”
However, although she fancied taking to the ice, the 77-year-old rejected the offer after her management intervened – for good reason.
She continued: “I was actually quite excited, but my team said, ‘Absolutely not’. They told me I was far too old and if I fell over I would break something.
“Then I thought they were probably right.”
Prue may be more likely to turn up on Strictly Come Dancing, but she’s reluctant to do the BBC show, as the focus would be on her dance moves.
“Maybe Strictly, as that is less dangerous. I’m not a very good dancer though,” she said.
“The only time I dance is after a few drinks, so I would have to have a few drinks before the performance. Even then it would just be nan-dancing!”
For now, it’s not even clear whether Prue will be back on Bake Off next year.
The food expert recently said that, while she wants to return, bosses are yet to offer her a contract.
Bake Off’s current series is nearing its conclusion, with the judges sending popular contestant Liam home in the latest episode.
The final four – Kate, Sophie, Stacey and Steven – face a patisserie-themed semi-final on Tuesday at 8.00pm on Channel 4.
