Pussycat Dolls singer Ashley Roberts is supposedly looking for love on Strictly Come Dancing.
Ashley rose to fame in American girl group the Pussycat Dolls in the 00s and is said to have signed up for Strictly this year.
“Ashley was a no brainer for the bookers. She’s sexy and sassy and has a bit about her,” a source said this week.
According to The Sun newspaper, former Dancing On Ice judge Ashley is hoping that the ‘Strictly curse’ actually works out for her.
“She’s had an amazing career and now wants to open her life up to having a serious relationship,” an insider claimed. “She’s seen plenty of romances blossom on Strictly over the years and hopes that the same could happen for her.”
Meanwhile, Ashley isn’t the only popstar signed up for this year’s series.
One piece of hit 1990s group Steps, Faye Tozer has also been linked to the cast alongside Ex-Blue singer Lee Ryan.
The trio are expected to join Capital FM radio DJ and TV presenter Vick Hope, BBC News journalist Kate Silverton and This Morning’s Dr Ranj on this year’s line up.
The Strictly 2018 cast is also set to see its first YouTuber with vlogger Joe Sugg, brother of fellow online celeb Zoella, set to take to the dancefloor.
A spokesperson for the BBC commented on the reports: “We don’t comment on speculation and the full line-up is coming soon.”
The first celebrity will be officially unveiled on Monday.
For now, other rumoured names Strictly Come Dancing bosses could sign this year include TV personality Anneka Rice, football pundit Chris Kamara and Radio DJ Maya Jama.
Hollyoaks star turned Oscar winner Rachel Shenton and The Chase’s Mark Labbett have also been tipped to take part in Strictly Come Dancing 2018, alongside former England footballer David James and X Factor star turned TV host Rylan Clark-Neal.
Strictly Come Dancing begins on BBC One in September.
