The Apprentice 2017 contestants makeover hotels with very dodgy results

The Apprentice 2017 candidates turn their hand to interior design tonight

In this evening’s show, the candidates are summoned to Stoke Park, an impressive five-star hotel, where Lord Sugar makes a grand entrance to reveal the second task facing the budding entrepreneurs this week.

The candidates are given the opportunity to let their creative juices flow and try their hand at interior design as they’re tasked with making over a bedroom, before pitching their finished design to the hotel manager and an industry expert.

The panel are looking for creative flair with some luxury touches, but the candidates must also keep an eye on their profit margin.

If a team forgets either, this could make the difference to them winning or losing the task…

The candidates get creative, but this means project managers have a battle on their hands, with issues setting the budget, DIY disasters and colour scheme troubles.

The boys’ team choose ‘Destination Britain’ as the theme for the bedroom, while the girls choose a golf theme.

To add to the luggage that hotel guests would bring with them anyway, the boys choose to decorate the room with yet more suitcases, while Claude is left less than impressed with the girls’ buying strategy.

A mad dash to complete the rooms leads to tension in the girls’ team and Michaela is not afraid to express her feelings for her teammate: “I think Elizabeth lives on another planet.”

Once the rooms are complete, the hotel manager and an interior design expert cast their discerning eyes over both teams’ creations.

In the boardroom, while one team gets a pasting, the other is given a stripping down.
