The Apprentice 2017 candidates open doggy businesses, with shocking results

It’s a case of Doggy Business on The Apprentice 2017 tonight.

An early morning surprise at the house signals the start of week eight this evening, as Lord Sugar arrives unannounced at the The Apprentice house.

After gathering the group in the kitchen, Lord Sugar tasks the candidates to prove their pedigree by running their own doggy service businesses.

Based at an established pooch pampering venue, the two teams must tempt discerning dog owners to part with their cash for services aimed at their four-legged friends.

On one team, a haphazard pricing strategy leads to a rough time managing their dog obedience class – and that’s just the owners. Meanwhile, the other team discover they may have bitten off more than they can chew at their luxury doggy spa service.

Both teams put their heads together to create a mobile service, but a canine photoshoot leaves some candidates growling – at each other.

Sarah Lynn tells Anisa to calm down so they encourage six dogs to sit for the perfect picture: “Honestly, if you are screaming and yelping they are not going to calm”

And underestimating the scale of a pooper scooping contract lands the others in deep doo-doo.

Claude Littner comments from the sidelines: “It should be quite simple to persuade somebody to allow you to pick up the poo, but this team have overcomplicated it and made a mess of it”

Elsewhere In the task, Joanna is supposed to be persuading a doggy day care that her team would be good at running their facility for the day, but instead she openly lets onto the fact that she doesn’t know anything about dogs.

Team Vitality get their costings in a muddle during their doggy photoshoot pitch, leaving the client highly unimpressed and allowing their rivals to sneak in and steal the sale.

And Team Graphene charge their clients differing prices for the same service, resulting in some unhappy customers.

Finally, one candidate is left “mortified” when her team mate swears in front of a client.
