Dance acts may have to step up their game to win Britain’s Got Talent 2019 after Alesha Dixon admitted the judges are BORED of them.
Alesha recently supported nervous hopefuls as presenter of BBC One talent contest The Greatest Dancer.
However, when it comes to judging them, the former Mis-Teeq star is only interested in moves and tricks that will surprise her.
“I’m always rooting for dancers to come out and be better than what we have found before,” she explained.
“We’ve got to a point with dancers now that unless you’re brilliant we get a bit bored, it’s stuff we’ve seen before.
“As a fan of dance that can be frustrating. For the audience to enjoy a dance act they have to come with something they haven’t seen before.”
Contestants are often compared to Ashley Banjo-led group Diversity, who were the last dancers to win BGT. This year marks a decade since their victory.
The most successful dance act from recent series is Boogie Storm, who finished third in 2016.
Meanwhile, Simon has praised Alesha’s hosting efforts on The Greatest Dancer – which, like BGT, is made by his firm Syco.
The mogul joked that she’s “come back like a producer” having experienced both sides of the judges’ desk.
“You know what, I think it’s been really good for Alesha,” he said.
“She’s got a great sense of humour and I thought she did great on the show in the role she had, she looked very comfortable.”
Now back behind the big red buzzers, Alesha has revealed she wants a singer to win the new series.
Britain’s Got Talent returns to ITV this Saturday night at 7.15pm.
Stephen Mulhern’s spin-off show Britain’s Got More Talent airs immediately afterwards at 8.35pm on ITV2.
