X Factor’s Scarlett Lee ‘determined to sing’ this week following hospital treatment after house fire

X Factor’s Scarlett Lee is ‘determined to perform’ this weekend following hospital treatment after a house fire.

The singer is one of twelve acts left in the competition but has suffered a horrific week.

On Monday, Scarlett was forced to escape a “terrifying” fire at her family’s home in Surrey that left her in need of hospital treatment.

The Sun reports that Scarlett had to undergo a procedure to remove embers from her eye following the blaze.

“Scarlett is still very shaken up by the experience,” a source told the tabloid. “Her family are recovering well and she is being supported by the X Factor team.”

Earlier this week it was reported that the fire left Scarlett’s brother’s home “burned to the ground”.

“Please can everyone keep my family in their prayers. God knows the situation,” Scarlett posted to social media.

“Scarlett has been terribly upset. It’s come as a real shock to both her and her family,” a source said, describing the situation as “beyond devastating.”

The source added: “They have been left with absolutely nothing from the blaze, with firefighters only able to recover a few photographs from the wreckage.”

Fortunately, no one was seriously hurt in the fire.

Scarlett is currently one of the favourites to win this year’s series after sailing through last weekend’s show with a cover of Elvis’ hit Always On My Mind.

The singer had first auditioned for the show last year, where she was given a no at the Six Chair Challenge.

The X Factor 2018 returns this Saturday and Sunday night on ITV with a Halloween themed episode. Guest acts on Sunday’s results show will be One Direction’s Liam Payne and 2012 X Factor winner James Arthur.

LMA Choir and Janice Robinson were the latest two acts to leave last weekend and two more are expected to go again this week.
