Former X Factor finalist Lloyd Macey has revealed all about his time on The X Factor.
Lloyd was a contestant on last year’s series, making it as far as the semi-finals.
Now the Welsh singer has opened up about his experience – and being mentored by Louis Walsh.
In a BBC documentary, Lloyd says in Welsh: “A lot of things have changed. My appearance has become more important.”
He explains: “People were brought in for teeth whitening, then facials, spray tan. It’s a different one to the world I’m used to.
“Louis spoke to us all and gave us all advice. He told me the way I was is great, my voice is incredible but I need to lose weight.”
Lloyd claims Louis told him: “People aren’t voting with just their ears, they’re voting with their eyes as well.
“They want to see someone who looks good,” Lloyd continued (via The Sun). “They showed me how to make everything look perfect.
“I was starting to turn into, I wouldn’t say a robot…I was turning into Lloyd Macey but not the familiar Lloyd Macey.
“Lloyd Macey the performer.”
Lloyd recently appeared on The X Factor tour, where he won the night in front of his home crowd in Cardiff.
The 2018 arena tour visited all the major cities across the nation with contestants performing classic songs and viewer’s favourites from this year’s series.
The X Factor digital host, Becca Dudley, was on the road with the contestants and presenting the tour competition each night.
Alongside Lloyd, the acts on The X Factor tour 2018 were Simon Cowell’s Groups Rak-Su and The CutKelvins and Sharon Osbourne’s top Girl Grace Davies.
Plus Nicole Scherzinger’s Overs Kevin Davy White and Matt Linnen.
