X Factor’s Grace Davies hits back at ‘diva’ accusations

X Factor 2017 contestant Grace Davies has hit back after a slew of negative press reports.

Grace is one of the tips to win the series and topped the very first public vote of the live shows.

But sources this week accused the singer-songwriter, who has been performing her own songs, of ‘acting as if she’s already won’.

An insider claimed: “Grace acts like she has already won and is a big star.

“All her manners seem to have gone and since winning the opening week she has developed a bit of an attitude. It needs to stop.”

More reports have since claimed that Grace had been told by her mentor Sharon Osbourne to ‘change her attitude’, while an incident at college three years ago was also dragged up in the papers.

Following the stories, fans were quick to rally around Grace who showed her appreicaiton on Twitter.

She liked one message on Twitter which read: “Why is that when a woman has even the hint of success, the media have to instantly gun for them. All these rubbish petty stories on tabloids about @gracedavies are just so pathetic.

“Hopefully public continues to vote for her and don’t listen to all these sourceless attacks.”

Another liked tweet by the singer said: “Always the way. Someone shows massive amounts of potential and talent on @TheXFactor and people come out with horrible stories. Jealousy springs to mind! Still behind you 100% @gracedavies”

Also defending Grace has been her fellow finalists.

Sean and Conor said: “All the contestants are really friendly and everyone gets on really well. There’s nothing that we’ve noticed.”

Conor added: “Grace hasn’t been acting like a diva. Not that we’ve noticed anyway.”

Sam Black agreed: “I think Grace is absolutely bob on; I’ve never seen her act like that. She’s obviously told me about that story and stuff, but we were actually laughing because she’s really not like that.”

The X Factor continues live tonight at 7:30PM on ITV with the Girls and Boys singing.
