Fleur East has parted ways from Simon Cowell’s Syco record label, it’s been revealed.
Fleur was runner up on The X Factor in 2014, finishing behind winner Ben Haenow.
After being signed by Simon Cowell’s Syco record label alongside Ben, Fleur released hit single Sax in 2015 which peaked at Number 3 while album Love, Sax and Flashbacks reached Number 14.
But now neither are part of Simon’s roster, with Fleur departing the label this year after Ben left in 2016.
“It was felt by both sides now was the time to go down different paths,” a source told The Sun newspaper. “She will remain a friend of the label because everyone’s really fond of her.”
Fleur had been working on new music before the split, and is now hoping to relaunch “next year through another record label.”
As of right now, Simon’s Syco label currently includes six X Factor alumni: 2012 winner James Arthur, 2016 finalists 5 After Midnight, 2012 contestant Ella Henderson, 2015 winner Louisa Johnson, 2011 winners Little Mix and former One Directions singer Louis Tomlinson.
The label also boasts BGT winner Susan Boyle, X Factor USA stars Fifth Harmony plus up and coming boyband PRETTYMUCH as well as the likes of Labrinth and OMI.
Most recent X Factor UK winner Matt Terry didn’t sign with the company, instead joining Syco’s sister label RCA Records, another of Sony Music’s imprints.
