X Factor results: Brendan Murrary reveals advice from Louis Tomlinson after elimination

X Factor’s Brendan Murrary has revealed the advice mentor Louis Tomlinson gave him after the weekend’s results.

Three acts have been confirmed for The X Factor 2018 final following a triple elimination in the semi-final.

Two contestants left the show on Saturday – Brendan Murray and Danny Tetley – before duo Acacia & Aaliyah were voted off in Sunday’s X Factor results.

Brendan was mentored by One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson and has been speaking about his departure.

He revealed to The Sun newspaper how Louis was quick to offer him support after Saturday’s show.

Brendan explained: “After the show Louis took me for a meeting.

“He said I’m his friend for life, and he’s always there as a mate and to advise me. He’s said ‘don’t ever change.'”

Meanwhile, Brendan spoke out about rumours of a romance between him and fellow X Factor contestant Dalton Harris.

There was speculation about the pair after a picture sheared on social media but Brendan said: “Yeah, it just got taken the wrong way. He was just sitting on my lap, and we were just kind of having the craic. So no, there’s no romance between me and Dalton. We are just really good friends. Brothers.”

Brendan added: “He [Dalton] mentioned then about the thing. He said ‘Everyone in Jamaica took it the wrong way and they think we are together now.’

“I was like ‘Really? We don’t even make a good couple.’ ”

A trio of acts are now left in the running for The X Factor victory.

Left in Louis Tomlinson’s Boys are Anthony Russell and Dalton, the current favourite to win.

They’ll be competing against Simon Cowell’s last remaining girl, Scarlett Lee. Both Robbie and wife Ayda Williams go into the final with no acts.

The X Factor 2018 final begins on Saturday, December 1 at 7:30PM on ITV and continues with the final results show on Sunday at 7:30PM where the winner is crowned.
