X Factor bootcamp! Wall of Songs twist causes CHAOS

The X Factor 2017 contestants face a Hunger Games style twist in tonight’s first episode of bootcamp.

This evening will see all the successful auditionees put through their paces, having to perform once again for the judges in groups of four.

The acts are faced with a ‘wall of songs’, an assortment of 35 song choices written on pieces of paper and attached to a wall.

The selection ranges from classic hits – such as Oasis’ Don’t Look Back In Anger and Jackson 5’s I Want You Back – to more recent chart toppers, including Rockabye by Clean Bandit and Say You Won’t Let Go by former X Factor winner James Arthur.

More bootcamp song choices include Heroes by David Bowie, Christina Aguilera’s Fighter and Ain’t No Other Man, and Love On Top by Beyonce.

After gathering all the contestants. host Dermot O’Leary unleashes them on the wall.

The singers race to fight it out for the song they want, with chaos ensuing.

Some people don’t get the song they wanted, some groups end up bickering and others try to swap or exchange their songs.

Dermot narrates as he watches the drama unfold from the sidelines: “As expected the wall of songs has been mayhem.

“People have been swapping, some people are unhappy.

“But whether they’re happy or not, they’ll have to sing in front of the judges in groups of four tomorrow.

“And they either get through to the next round or get sent home on the spot.”

The X Factor 2017’s bootcamp double bill airs this Saturday at 8PM.

The show continues with a bumper episode on Sunday night from the earlier time of 7:30PM.
