Vinnie Jones ‘lined up for Celebrity X Factor’

Footballer turned actor Vinnie Jones is said to be in talks for Celebrity X Factor.

Simon Cowell previously revealed plans to swap this year’s regular series of the singing contest in favour of two spin-offs.

One will be an ‘all stars’ edition welcoming back fan favourites from past years, while the other is set to feature celebrity contestants.

Although nothing is confirmed just yet, the Daily Star newspaper reports that Vinnie Jones is in talks to take part.

Vinnie Jones originally rose to fame as a professional footballer before moving into acting. He’s also dabbed in music, releasing an album in 2002 called Respect.

A source shared: “Vinnie looks all set to take part in the celebrity edition of The X Factor.

“Talks are ongoing and the details haven’t been agreed but it’s more than likely he will make the final line-up.

“He may have a rough and ready persona but Vinnie is a great singer and loves performing.”

Earlier this week Vinnie and fellow football star Paul Gascoigne appeared on ITV’s Good Morning Britain as they discussed going on tour in June where they will talk about the highs and lows of their career as well as their friendship.

Meanwhile, other names rumoured for the Celebrity X Factor line up include reality star Gemma Collins and former EastEnders star Jacqueline Jossa.

She is best known for playing Lauren Branning in the BBC One soap between 2010 and 2018.

As for the line up of judges for the special series, rumour has it that Simon could be joined on the panel by some familiar faces from past series, after Robbie and Ayda Williams both quit.

Louis Walsh has been tipped to return together with the likes of Cheryl, Sharon Osbourne, Nicole Scherzinger and even Dannii Minogue.

According to other reports, the winner of Celebrity’s X Factor series is set to scoop a record deal – just like the regular version.

It’s expected both Celebrity X Factor and its All Stars spin-off will air in the autumn on ITV.
