The 6 remaining acts left on The X Factor took to the stage in the live shows for the latest time on Saturday.

And there was a shock in store as host Dermot O’Leary revealed that two of them would be leaving at the end of the show.

Instead of the usual Sunday results sing-off, the two contestants with the fewest votes immediately got the axe this evening.

It was Brendan Murray and Danny Tetley who were voted off in tonight’s X Factor results, following the semi-final live performances.

Saturday’s semi-final episode began with each act singing a song they felt would get them into the final.

Scarlett Lee went with This is Me from The Greatest Showman while Anthony Russell rocked out to Bon Jovi classic Livin on a Prayer. Brendan Murray chose Run by Snow Patrol before Dalton Harris sang Feeling Good by Muse.

In the Groups category, duo Acacia & Aaliyah performed a mash up of Blinded By Your Grace and I Win while representing the Overs, Danny Tetley sang This is My Life by Shirley Bassey.

As always, judges Simon Cowell, Adya Williams, Louis Tomlinson and Robbie Williams gave their opinions before lines opened for viewers to vote.

The six semi-finalists then returned to the stage for an ABBA showcase.

Scarlett performed Winner Takes It All, Anthony sang Name Of The Game, Brendan chose to sing I Have A Dream, Dalton went with S.O.S., Acacia and Aaliyah put a twist on Money, Money, Money and Danny Tetley belted out Thank You For The Music.

Lines then froze before host Dermot O’Leary returned to reveal the results.

With the fewest votes, Brendan Murray and Danny Tetley were two contestants sent home.
