Sunday night saw the latest stage of the live shows of The X Factor 2017 with a brand new format.

The contestants this year are performing in separate nights in their categories and on Sunday evening the Overs and Groups were in the spotlight.

And it was Talia Dean who was second to be voted off the show after the latest live performances, having been voted into the live shows by viewer as the Overs wildcard.

This year there is no sing off and the results are on the same night, decided by the viewer poll alone.

Once the vote had closed, Dermot O’Leary welcomed back the contestants before revealing that Talia had received the fewest votes and was going home.

Talia performed a unique cover of One Direction’s What Make You Beautiful for her one and only live performance, which split the judges.

“I took a risk with the song but I am glad I did it,” Talia said today. “I don’t like to be predictable.”

She told ITV’s Lorraine: “I wanted to do something different and I was really happy with it.

Despite leaving after just one performance, Talia insisted: “There’s nothing to be sad about. Everyone wants to win, of course, and someone has got to go every week.

“I’m happy to have been a part of the show.”

Talia was one of two acts to leave this weekend, with Boys’ Spencer Sutherland the first to be eliminated in Saturday’s show.
