Almost all of Friday’s TV was cancelled following the death of Prince Philip – here’s when delayed shows will air.
The Duke of Edinburgh, husband to the Queen, died aged 99 on Friday morning, Buckingham Palace announced at midday.
TV shows were interrupted with the news, which will continue throughout the day.
On BBC One and BBC Two, programming was suspended with BBC News airing in its place until Saturday. This meant that the final of MasterChef, EastEnders and Have I Got News for You were all cancelled.
The BBC said: “With the sad news that HRH Prince Philip, The Duke of Edinburgh, has died, there is now special coverage across all BBC networks to mark his life of extraordinary public service and planned scheduling has been suspended.”
Have I Got News for You will now air at 10PM on Monday (April 12) on BBC Two while The Graham Norton Show will air Monday (12 April) at 11:45PM on BBC One.
Displaced episodes of Great British Menu and Gardener’s World will now air tonight (10 April) at 7:30PM and 8PM. You can also watch online and catch up via the BBC iPlayer.
A new date for the MasterChef 2021 final is to be confirmed.
On ITV, news specials also aired throughout the day and evening, seeing Coronation Street and Emmerdale’s latest episodes both pulled.
Emmerdale will next air on Monday, 12 April at 7PM and Tuesday, 13 April at both 7PM and 7:30PM.
Coronation Street will return Monday, 12 April at 7:30PM and 8:30PM as well as Tuesday, 13 April at 8PM.
On Channel 4, a news special aired from 7PM but Gogglebox as well as The Circle final aired as planned.
News of Prince Philip’s death first broke around midday yesterday (9 April).
A statement from Buckingham Palace read: “It is with deep sorrow that Her Majesty The Queen announces the death of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.
“His Royal Highness passed away peacefully this morning at Windsor Castle.
“The Royal Family join with people around the world in mourning his loss.”
Prime Minister Boris Johnson said: “We mourn today with Her Majesty The Queen we offer our condolences to her and to all her family and we give thanks, as a nation and a Kingdom, for the extraordinary life and work of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.”
