The X Factor winner Sam Bailey says she’d sign up for an ‘all-stars’ version

'Skyscraper' singer thinks show needs change after attending part-"empty" live tour date

Former The X Factor champion Sam Bailey has volunteered herself for the show’s planned ‘all-stars’ spin-off – while claiming it needs a “revamp or a break”.

There’s huge changes afoot for the ITV talent contest, with boss Simon Cowell announcing earlier this month that he wants to postpone the next regular series.

And Sam reckons this could be a good idea after she noticed a lack of atmosphere at the latest X Factor Live Tour.

The former prison officer headlined the arena shows herself after winning the tenth series back in 2013.

However, she told The Sun that she was shocked by how few tickets had been sold this year after attending a performance.

“X Factor definitely needs a revamp or a break,” she proclaimed.

“I went to the tour this year and I couldn’t believe how empty the stadium was. It wasn’t a sell-out like when we did it. I felt sorry for them.”

Simon has revealed he’s plotting a revamp which would see TWO spin-off series air later this year.

One will be an ‘all-stars’ edition, involving fan favourites from past series competing to be crowned the champion of champions.

Now Sam has become one of the first major X Factor acts to express an interest in taking part.

“I’d love to go back with other winners and perform again . . . so long as they fed me egg and chips in the canteen!” she laughed.

Three popular runners-up – Olly Murs, Fleur East and Saara Aalto – have all recently ruled themselves out of returning.

Those who are up for it include Stevi Ritchie, one of the more novelty X Factor alumni.

Simon’s other planned spin-off is a revival of X Factor: Battle Of The Stars, featuring celebrity contestants.

ITV bosses are yet to confirm details of what to expect.
