Scarlett Lee has returned for a second shot at The X Factor after she was controversially axed by Sharon Osbourne in last year’s Six Chair Challenge.
A huge fan of the ITV show, Scarlett won over viewers last year after auditioning with Andra Day’s ‘Rise Up’.
Although Sharon said ‘no’ at the try-outs, she gave Scarlett a seat at the Six Chair Challenge, following her performance of David Guetta’s ‘Without You’.
However, just when it appeared Scarlett had booked a place at Judges’ Houses, Sharon decided she’d made a mistake getting rid of Alisah Bonaobra.
The music manager pit the two wannabes in a head-to-head sing-off – and Alisah ended up taking Scarlett’s place.
Now, a year on, Scarlett appears to have dusted herself off for a second chance at Simon Cowell’s talent contest.
According to The Sun, the 20-year-old appeared before the new judging panel at last week’s arena auditions in Wembley.
She has been teasing her appearance on her social media pages, responding to one fan who witnessed her comeback.
A Twitter user who was in the audience wrote: “Just wanted to say, Friday was Amazing. I was very lucky to be at that session in Wembley.”
Scarlett replied: “You don’t understand how much this means to me, thank you so so much!
“Sorry I was such a crying mess!”
Fortunately for her, Sharon won’t have a say in whether or not she makes the finals this time around.
Newbies Robbie Williams, Ayda Field and Louis Tomlinson join head judge Simon for the latest series.
Sharon will only appear during the live shows, as an ‘impartial’ fifth panellist.
Scarlett isn’t the only familiar face returning to The X Factor for its upcoming fifteenth run.
Reports indicate that Anthony Russell is also back after he previously quit for “personal reasons”.
Louis apparently abstained from voting during the Liverpool lad’s audition after they became close friends.
The X Factor 2018 is due to hit our screens next month on ITV.
