The Traitors series two CONFIRMED for BBC One

The Traitors will return to BBC One for a second series, it’s been confirmed.

The Traitors sees a group of contestants competing in the ultimate game of deception, skill and trust for a massive cash prize.

Hidden within the group are The Traitors, contestants who must ‘murder’ the faithful players and make it to the end without getting caught.

The new show launched last December and became a huge hit with viewers making it the biggest brand new entertainment launch for the BBC in 2 years.

A brand new second series has now been officially announced with Claudia Winkleman back to host.

She said: “I can’t wait to go back to the castle to watch people play the greatest game on television. I’m knitting a high funnel sweater immediately.”

Kalpna Patel-Knight, Head of Entertainment at the BBC, added: “Last year’s ambitious and bingeable hit The Traitors with Claudia Winkleman is coming back with the brilliant team at Studio Lambert set to bring viewers another magnificent series full of drama and suspense. We can certainly expect even more deceit and psychological games for the Traitors and Faithfuls.”

Going into the final of the debut series, two Traitors remained in the game together with three hopefuls leading to a dramatic showdown.

After twelve episodes, the cash prize up for grabs is in excess of £80,000. The group will had one final chance to eliminate any remaining traitors before the final result was revealed.

The Traitors airs on BBC One with viewing figures growing across the weeks ahead of the final.
