Ten contestants remain for the final week of The Circle 2019 but one more big twist awaits.
Fresh from the latest blocking, tonight saw another player enter and a huge twist revealed.
The Circle is Channel 4’s social media based reality TV game show where up to £100,000 can be won.
In a game where anyone can be anyone, players all reside in the same building but live in completely separate apartments Instead, they can only communicate using a specially-designed voice automated social media platform called The Circle as they compete to be crowned the most popular.
In tonight’s episode (Friday, October 11), it was revealed that the public had the power to vote for one player to become a secret influencer.
This person will have the ability to instantly block another player from The Circle, forcing them out of the game.
But in a further twist, they will have to deliver their decision face to face.
Viewers were able to vote for who they wanted to grant the power to via a free vote on The Circle app. The results and blocking will be revealed in Sunday night’s show.
Elsewhere tonight, two new players joined The Circle but one didn’t stay for very long.
We were introduced to both 58-year-old Jan and 28-year-old Andrea. who first appeared to the other players as just a Red Egg (Andrea) and a Blue Egg (Jan).
“There are two eggs in The Circle. Each egg is someone hoping to join the game,” revealed The Circle to the current contestants. “You must get to know both eggs and decide which one you want.
“You must do this without seeing their name, photo, age or gender.”
The current players got to question the eggs before deciding which one stayed. The other was instantly blocked.
With six votes to two, the Blue Egg – aka Jan – was voted into The Circle while the Red Egg – aka Andrea – was immediately blocked.
Alongside Jan – who is playing as herself – the remaining players on The Circle currently are Ella May (playing as herself), Georgina Aurelia Elliott (playing as herself), Tim Wilson (playing as himself) and Woody Cook (playing as himself).
They’re joined by James Doran (playing as single mum Sammie), Paddy Smyth (playing as himself), Busayo Twins (playing as Josh) and Beth Dunlavey & Jack Quirk (playing together as 62-year-old Joyce).
There will not be any new players with the ten currently remaining competing for the £100,000 prize.
The Circle 2019 airs Monday-Fridays and Sunday nights at 9PM on Channel 4.
The final will air next Friday, October 18.
