Strictly’s Saffron Barker laughs off AJ Pritchard romance rumours

Strictly Come Dancing’s Saffron Barker has laughed off romance rumours about herself and AJ Pritchard.

Social media star Saffron is one of this year’s celebrity contestants, dancing with professional AJ.

Last weekend saw claims in a tabloid that the pair had been spotted ‘looking cosy’ together, something Saffron says she found “hilarious”.

She said of the rumours: “It makes me laugh so much. It doesn’t bother us. We don’t have time to think of it.

“We’re just walking with headphones in because we’re doing a radio interview. They’re just like photos of anybody walking down the street as normal.”

She told The Sun newspaper: “We’ve become such good friends and I think we will just be friends for such a long time.”

The previously speculation followed AJ, who is currently in a relationship, dismissing any fears about the supposed ‘Strictly curse’.

He told Good Morning Britain ahead of the series: “My girlfriend Abbie, she’s a dancer as well.

“She goes away and does her dancing she understands the long hours and hard work. We always want the dance on Saturday to be the best dance possible. She’s not worried at all.”

This week will see Saffron and AJ dance the Paso Doble to Everybody Wants To Rule The World by Lorde from The Hunger Games for Strictly’s Movies themed special.

Strictly Come Dancing 2019 continues Saturday night on BBC One from 7:10PM.

On Sunday will be the second results show as the viewer votes and judges’ votes combined will determine the two celebrities who have to dance off.

As well as the elimination, there will be a glittering group number from the Strictly professional dancers as they recreate iconic moments in cinematic history, as they dance us through the movies.

Grammy and Emmy Award winner Harry Connick Jr will also perform live in the ballroom, singing the Broadway classic Anything Goes.
