Strictly Come Dancing’s Kelvin Fletcher ‘in talks for West End role’

Kelvin Fletcher is set for the West End after impressing on Strictly Come Dancing.

The Emmerdale actor was a late addition to this year’s Strictly line up, joining in place of Jamie Laing who was injured before the first live show.

Kelvin has proved a revelation on the dancefloor, scoring top marks for his routines including the first 10s of the series.

And his moves could well help him land a leading role on the West End, the Daily Mirror newspaper reports.

The tabloid says that Kelvin is in talks to appear in Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat next summer.

“Producers are keen to snap up Kelvin for a lead in the musical and have approached him with a £250,000 offer this week,” a source claimed.

They revealed: “He has agreed to meet the producers at the top of the new year, once the Strictly madness is over.

“They are aware of his popularity and excellent dancing skills and they have also been made aware he has a fairly good voice too.

“They are confident that with a few singing lessons he would be a perfect fit for a starring role. They know he will be in huge demand after Strictly, so wanted to get in early.”

Last night’s latest live show saw Kelvin again impress the judges, dancing a Rumba that Craig Revel Horwood jokingly described as “filth”.

The soap star scored a total of 36 points, placing second on the leaderboard after his routine with pro partner Oti Mabuse.

For now, Strictly is back Sunday night on BBC One with its latest results from 7:15PM.

This week the Strictly pros come together to wow the audience with an electric group performance. Grammy Award-winning country singer Keith Urban will also be in the studio, performing Never Comin’ Down.
