Charles Venn has confessed it’s “disheartening” to have been in the Strictly Come Dancing bottom two again.
Charles and pro partner Karen Clifton danced the Viennese Waltz to Piano Man by Billy Joel last Saturday night, scoring a respectable 28 points.
But – for a third time – it wasn’t enough to save the pair from the dance off. This week they were in the bottom two with Dr Ranj Singh and Janette Manrara.
Fortunately, the judges once again saved the pair Bruno Tonioli, Shirley Ballas and Darcey Bussell all voting to keep Charles in. Craig Revel Horwood had voted to save Ranj.
Appearing on BBC Two spin-off It Takes Two this week, Charles discussed his latest dance off.
“I would say just more disappointment,” he said when asked if he was shocked to be in the bottom two again.
He added: “I was very disappointed. It really just knocked the complete stuffing out of me. And I don’t have much stuff in there! It was disheartening. We did what we always do, and just fight!”
Charles admitted that his latest dance off proved extra difficult as his family were in the audience.
The Casualty actor confessed: “It made me want to cry, man. You know what? I felt their strength. I just hoped that I wasn’t going to cry. I was just trying to stop myself from crying. But yeah, I felt their strength.”
This week, Charles and Karen will be dancing the Charleston to No Diggity by Minimatic and have high hopes.
Karen encouraged: “It’s one of my absolute favourite dances. I’ve almost always scored high!”
Strictly Come Dancing 2018 is back live this Saturday night with its performances at 7PM on BBC One.
The latest results follow at 7:50PM on Sunday, featuring a musical performance by Italian singer-songwriter Andrea Bocelli, and his son Matteo.
