A load of rules that Strictly Come Dancing’s pros are said to abide by have been revealed.
Contracts supposedly leaked showing just what those performers signing up must agree to.
As reported in the Daily Mirror newspaper, some rules are sensible with pros banned from taking any “action to try to manipulate the public vote… such as setting up a call centre… or taking out a national advertising campaign”.
However more strict restrictions include a ban on performers doing their own make up, cutting their own hair or having cosmetic surgery “which might significantly alter their appearance”.
The stars are also told to “declare any political involvement” and given rules on social media use including requirements to “behave in a professional and courteous manner” and refer to their partner “in a respectful, appropriate tone”.
In return, dancers are said to earn around £45,000 for their five months on the show which begins filming in August each year.
They can also earn more cash from the live tour which will run in 2018.
A source said: “Some of these stipulations are ridiculous, it’s always funny when they come through.
“There’ve been instances where dancers have run into trouble after flouting these rules.”
The latest Strictly Come Dancing pro line up saw a number of changes after a trio left the show.
Joanne Clifton, Oksana Platero, Natalie Lowe have all quit, replaced by new dancers Dianne Buswell from Australia, Nadiya Bychkova from Ukraine and Amy Dowden from Wales.
The line up for 2018’s run will be confirmed next spring.
