Strictly Come Dancing fans accuse judges of ‘undermarking’ Joe Sugg

Strictly Come Dancing viewers have accused the show’s judges of undermarking Joe Sugg.

Joe is one of the favourites to win the show with fans but has had a tougher time winning over the judges.

It was the Semi Finals on Strictly Come Dancing this week and one more celebrity will be going home in tonight’s (Sunday) show.

Joe Sugg and pro partner Dianne started the semi-final with the Viennese Waltz, scoring their lowest marks since week 5 with 29 points. Their second dance, Argentine Tango fared only the one point better, leaving the couple with a total of 59 points.

As always, viewers were quick to take to Twitter and Joe began to trend as fans defended him against the judges’ criticism.

“Joe was definitely undermarked this week #Strictly,” one declared.

Another added: “I mean i’m not a professional dancer but i feel like the judges are being really harsh on joe this week ?? #Strictly”

One viewer posted: #Strictly joe and Diannes’s Viennese waltz just made me cry – don’t care what the judges say ❤️?

Shared a fourth: “so So SO UNDERMARKED!! @Joe_Sugg and @dbuzz6589 deserved so so much more!! Absolutely flawless in my opinion! #Strictly”

“Joe and Dianne, whilst not perfect, we’re definitely undermarked tonight. Stacey did dance well, but she was OVERMARKED. #Strictly,” wrote another of Joe’s supporters.

Come the end of the night, it was Faye Tozer and Ashley Roberts who shared the top spot of the leaderboard.

Hoping to bounce back from a second week in the dance off, Ashley and Pasha Kovalev opened with the Paso Doble to score nines across the board. The pair then scored a perfect 40 for their American Smooth, remaining the only couple to get a full set of 10s this series.

Meanwhile, Faye and pro partner Giovanni Pernice danced a Samba to score 37 points but it was her Argentine Tango that won the best marks. Only Craig Revel Horwood held out from awarding a perfect ten, leaving the pair with 39 points for a total of 76 to match Ashley.

Strictly Come Dancing 2018 continues tonight at 7:20PM on BBC One with the semi-final results.

One more celebrity couple will head home while there will be a guest performance form Little Mix. Plus, the Strictly pros will put on a brand new group routine.
