Ashley Roberts was in the bottom two in tonight’s Strictly Come Dancing 2018 results.
It was the second time in the dance off in as many weeks for Ashley, despite scoring big marks from the judges.
The result means Ashley would have had to be near the bottom of the public votes after scoring 38 points from the panel on Saturday night.
On Saturday, Ashley and her pro partner Pasha Kovalev danced the Quickstep to Don’t Rain On My Parade from Funny Girl for this weekend’s Musicals themed special.
Ashley was in the bottom two with Charles Venn. He and pro dancer Karen Clifton had performed the Rumba to Maria from West Side Story, scoring 35 marks from the panel.
Ashley placed joint second in the leaderboard whereas Charles was joint bottom of the scores.
As usual, the results from the public vote were added to the judges’ scores to decide the bottom two in the dance off tonight.
First to be announced as in the dance off were Charles & Karen.
He reacted: “It’s never good to be in the bottom two, we’ve been here before and we do what we always do which is fight and do the best we can.”
Bruno Tonioli commented: “I can only assume the reason you’re here is people want to see your Rumba again, so it’s going to be even better the second time around.”
Shirley Ballas added: “You’ve become a leading man, go out there and give it everything you’ve got it. Enjoy the moment.”
Next, Ashley & Pasha were revealed as being in the bottom two for a second week running.
“It definitely doesn’t get easier. It is what it is. We’ve got to go out there and do our best,” Ashley reacted.
Darcey Bussell advised the pair: “You produce the most technical quickstep. I’m shocked and disappointed you’re here. Just enjoy it.”
And Craig Revel Horwood added: “You should believe in yourself. This isn’t your dance genre at all and I think it’s amazing the way you’ve picked it up.”

Both Ashley and Charles then danced again for the judges, who had to decide which couple should stay in the competition.
Craig Revel Horwood, Shirley Ballas, Darcey Bussell and Bruno Tonioli all voted for Ashley & Pasha to stay, leaving Charles & Karen to head home.
Strictly Come Dancing 2018 is back next Saturday and Sunday night, live on BBC One.
It’ll be the semi-final as the remaining five celebrity couples and their pro dancers perform twice for the first time this year.
