There was a dance off disaster in Sunday night’s Strictly Come Dancing 2017 results.
As always, the evening’s results saw the latest judges’ judges scores combined with the viewer vote to decide the bottom two.
There weren’t many people shocked when it was revealed that Simon Rimmer and his partner Karen Clifton; and Brian Conley and his partner Amy Dowden had to dance again.
Both couples performed their routines from Saturday, Simon and Karen performed their Charleston to Fit As A Fiddle (And Ready For Love) by Gene Kelly and Brian and Amy did their Jive to It’s Not Unusual by Tom Jones in a bid to impress the judges and remain in the competition.
However there were disasters for both as they competed to stay in the competition, with Simon taking a tumble and Brian forgetting more than a few steps.
“Worst dance-off of all time? #Strictly” one viewer asked.
Despite the mistakes, the judges had to pick one of the pairs to stay.
Craig Revel Horwood said: “Well both couples actually made mistakes in that, one fell-over and then the other one blanked before they went into a back-drop so it made it a really, really difficult choice. But the couple I am going to save just for that little bit of swivel is Simon and Karen.”
Darcey Bussell commented: “This is incredibly difficult with these two fabulous men and it’s not easy at all to choose between them. But I am going to save the person who had a more finished performance which was Simon and Karen.”
Head Judge Shirley Ballas agreed with her fellow judges and said she too would have saved Simon and Karen
As a result it was Brian Conley and his partner Amy Dowden who found themselves leaving the competition.
Brian said: “I have loved everything about this, I truly have. It’s one of the greatest shows, it’s a family show. And you know what, there has been someone by my side all the way through this journey who has been just there every moment and that is… Aston! I love him and I am really going to miss him (laughs).”
The remaining eleven couples will take to the dancefloor again next week when Strictly Come Dancing returns on BBC One for its annual Halloween special.
