Sinitta has her say on The X Factor’s falling viewing figures

Sinitta has had her say on The X Factor’s falling ratings.

Despite a vast array of changes to last year’s series, viewing figures dipped to their lowest on record.

And Sinitta thinks the problem is Simon Cowell being too far “into the future”.

“They don’t understand the viewers,” said Sinitta, who didn’t make her regular appearance at judges’ houses in 2017. “Simon is so forward looking that he’s zooming into the future.

“If you look at the recent episodes they are very different to the original ones but he needs to let the team catch up.”

Sinitta was replaced by Cheryl alongside Simon and added: “It’s unfortunate because a show like that always needs new ideas.

“Even Cheryl’s week didn’t stop it losing 1 million viewers.”

Meanwhile, former X Factor finalist Rylan Clark-Neal has predicted there will be more changes for the show in 2018.

Following the success of acts like Rak-Su and Grace Davies, who performed their own songs, he told ITV’s This Morning: “It shows what the public want now. I’m not slating the show, but now it shows people love the original music.”

Rylan added: “I think next year they could look at that and build on that a bit more, because it’s so lovely seeing people coming on week after week, like Simon says, smashing out number one songs.”

The X Factor will return to ITV later this year.
