Simon Cowell has confessed he’s still not over One Direction missing out on winning The X Factor.
The music mogul mentored the boys back in 2010 where they finished third behind Rebecca Ferguson and Matt Cardle.
In 2017, Simon is once again in charge of the groups and has another boy band in the final.
Tonight will see Rak-Su going head to head with Grace Davies for victory, and Simon’s group are the hot favourites.
But after 2010, Simon is definitely not getting ahead of himself.
He said this weekend: “I don’t want to jinx it as I always get this wrong. I had the same conversation with One Direction.
“I thought we were going to walk it and on the night we were third and I was like ‘what?’.
“I am still pi***d off to this day that One Direction didn’t win.”
Whether or not Rak-Su do win tonight, Simon is confident they’ve a big future ahead of them just like 1D.
He told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “The guys have been consistent from the beginning and the fact they were cool enough and brave enough to do their own material has worked in their favour.
And speaking of Rak-Su’s chart success – with three of their original songs going to Number 1 on iTunes – Simon added: “They effectively have to make a No1 record every week at the moment.
“It’s really hard to do that. But they’ve done it without any stress.
“In fact they’ve been very casual about the whole process. If they can do that, they will have no problems.”
The X Factor 2017 airs tonight at 7:15PM on ITV.
As well as the songs from the final two there will be guest appearances from Little Mix, Pink and Sam Smith.
