Silent Witness series 24 cast, number of episodes and how to watch on TV and online

Series 24 of BBC drama Silent Witness is on its way to TV for 2021 – here’s all you need to know.

The last series ended with an explosive finale which saw the exits of two of the series’ regular characters: Clarissa Mullery (Liz Carr) and Dr Thomas Chamberlain (Richard Lintern).

After a delay due to the pandemic, the new series starts soon on BBC One.

Silent Witness series 24 currently airs Monday and Tuesday nights at 9PM on BBC One. The new series has 10 episodes.

A spoiler-filled tease for this week’s episode shares: “Nikki’s students make an alarming discovery while dissecting a body donated for their training.

“The case that follows brings Nikki close to student Ollie (Jack Bandeira), stirring dangerous feelings.

“Meanwhile Jack investigates the care home where the victim died, but finds himself fighting to keep the residents alive when a diverted river floods the area.”

Meet the cast

Series 24 finds Dr Nikki Alexander (Emilia Fox) and Jack Hodgson (David Caves) looking forward to the future. However buried secrets and memories soon surface, and, when ghosts from the past emerge, the two are forced increasingly close to one another.

The BBC has confirmed the regular cast will welcome new member Jason Wong for series 24.

He’ll play Adam Yuen, a confident, bright and keen pathologist who’s constantly striving to be the best, he immediately rubs Nikki and Jack up the wrong way.

Also new for series 24 is Genesis Lynea. Genesis, who has previously appeared on Casualty and Shadow And Bone, will play Forensic Ecologist Simone Tyler in upcoming episodes.

The longest running British crime drama currently airing on TV, Silent Witness follows a team of forensic pathologists helping police solve murders using clues found on the bodies of the victims – the silent witnesses.
