Sheridan Smith and Jason Donovan ‘to sing on Britain’s Got Talent live shows’

Sheridan Smith and Jason Donovan will appear on the Britain’s Got Talent 2019 live shows, it’s been reported.

The pair are set to sing a medley of hits from their upcoming production of hit West End musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

The show will open the Palladium on June 27 for an 11-week engagement and star screen and stage actress Sheridan Smith in the role of narrator while Jason Donovan – who previously played Joseph at the Palladium in the 1990s – will take on the role of Pharaoh.

An insider told The Sun newspaper: “It will be the first time Sheridan has performed songs from the musical publicly, so it’s a coup for ITV. Bosses expect decent ratings.”

A number of other guest acts will perform over the week of live shows with the exact line up still to be confirmed.

Airing from Monday, May 27, the live Britain’s Got Talent 2019 semi-finals will take place every week-night eight acts performing each night for a chance of winning a life changing £250,000 and a spot at this year’s Royal Variety Performance.

As always, Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams will be on hand to offer opinions before the viewing public vote for their favourite act.

Each night two acts will go through to the live grand finale which has been confirmed for Sunday, June 2 from 8PM on ITV.

There the public will have full control as they vote for which one act will triumph as winner of Britain’s Got Talent series 13.
