Saara Aalto wouldn’t sign up for an X Factor All Star series

Saara Aalto has ruled out competing on The X Factor’s planned All Star series this year.

The potential X Factor All Stars series was announced in February by Simon Cowell.

He revealed hopes to air both a Celebrity and All Star version of X Factor this year. Simon suggested that The X Factor will air two separate shows back to back this autumn, one seeing celebrities compete and the other featuring a line up of past contestants.

Simon told The Sun newspaper. “I’ve had a meeting with ITV, I’ve told them what I think we’d like to do with X Factor because we’ve been waiting to have this opportunity.”

Simon described the upcoming series as a “huge change”, continuing: “We haven’t exactly confirmed the dates or the order of the shows, but essentially there are going to be two versions of X Factor running this year. I think it’s going to be huge, it’s the best I’ve felt about this show in years.”

Saara Aalto was runner up on The X Factor in 2016 but this week said she wouldn’t be returning to any All Star season this year.

“I just did it two-and-a-half years ago so I feel it’s a bit early,” she said. “I’m doing Dancing On Ice and I’m just exhausted. I’ve done so many reality shows now.”

In an interview with The Sun newspaper, Saara went on to suggest that Simon should instead rest the show completely for a year.

She said: “I think a change was definitely needed. I would have had a break and not done it at all as people have seen it so much. I think a break would have been better.

“It’s interesting to see how they’re going to make this all-star thing work. If they’re going to get good people, is it going to be interesting? I have no idea, but I think it’s a good thing to change.”

As yet, ITV has not officially announced its plans for The X Factor in 2019.
