RuPaul’s Drag Race UK star Blu Hydrangea fronts brand new BBC Three show Stitch, Please! – here’s all you need to know!

The northern Irish drag queen and social media star Blu Hydrangea will host the three-part series from, Monday 18 April at 8:30PM

Each episode will follow two contributors as they compete to create a different outfit inspired by iconic designs from the worlds of fashion, film, television and cosplay.

The BBC say: “Stitch, Please! seeks to celebrate and explore the creativity, skills and passion of the young contestants who have just 12 hours and a £100 budget to make their creation based on a design brief devised by Blu.

“After modelling their creations, the winner is selected based on the criteria of creativity, craftsmanship and sustainability.”

Every episode will have a different themed challenge with the winner decided by a special guest judge.

In episode one the theme is The Hunger Games with contestants Katherine and Yasmine and guest judge BAFTA award-winning costume designer Michele Clapton.

In the second episode the stitchers take on fashion’s biggest night out -The Met Gala. Contestants Lucy and Matthew will face guest judge, legend of British fashion, Julien MacDonald.

Finally the third episode will see contestants Mariam and Amy tasked with recreating looks from the ultimate nineties fashion flick Clueless while County Kerry native and fashion designer, Colin Horgan joins Blu is the week’s guest judge.

Blu Hydrangea, who featured in series one of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, said: “I’ve been blown away by the talent of the Stitchers and I think viewers will be too. It’s a fast-paced show full of fun and glamour and really taps into my love of pop culture.

“If the audience have half as much fun watching as I’ve had with the Stitchers, they’re in for a real treat.

“Hosting this show has shown me that there is a wealth of talent out there in the sewing, crafting and cosplay communities. Stitch, Please! gives them an opportunity to really showcase their skills.”

Stitch, Please! will air on BBC Three, Monday 18 April at 8.30pm and BBC One Northern Ireland on Wednesday 20 April at 10.45pm. Also available on BBC iPlayer.
