Ikenna was one of two Islanders to be given the boot in the latest episode alongside Amber Beckford.

The pair were eliminated from the show after being voted as the least popular Islanders in a public vote.

Speaking following his departure, Ikenna said: “When I was the first name read out I was like, OK cool, that’s my time done. I sort of knew it was my time when I was in the bottom three. I was a bit upset obviously, but still excited to know what it’s going to be like on the outside world.

“It is what it is, I’m not really thinking too much about it. I thought Jay might be at risk but I thought Andrew would have been safe.

“Definitely the best holiday I’ve ever been on [laughs]! I didn’t find romance but it was nice to be in the Villa, nice to have a pool in the heat, couldn’t really complain. Obviously short-lived but that’s cool though.”

He added of leaving with Amber: “Out of the girls I feel like it would have been a tough decision. I thought Ekin-Su might have been in trouble a little bit. But very surprised Amber is leaving.”

Ikenna was chosen by the public to couple up with Indiyah on launch night but shortly before his exit the pair decided to continue only as friends.

Since then Indiyah has been seen getting close to Dami – and Ikenna insists he’s happy for the pair.

Ikenna shared: “I feel like in the end, it was probably good that we left it like that, as now she won’t feel any type of way going about her way in the Villa. I’m happy for her and also intrigued how she’ll get on in the Villa now.

“Initially I did want to stay coupled up with her romantically. She was the one who suggested it [being friends]. I thought OK, maybe that is something we should think about. Then in the end that’s what happened.

He said of Indiyah and Dami’s potential coupling: “I’m happy for the both of them really. I was pretty close to the both of them. They’re both my mates. If that works out, that’ll be pretty sick to see on TV.

“100% [I want to see it play out]. I feel like they have quite similar personalities. I feel like they’ll be a good match.”

Meanwhile asked who he thinks could win, Ikenna said: “I think maybe Luca and Gem. Luca’s gone above and beyond to sleep in the Dog House when Danica picked him. He genuinely likes her.”

Love Island continues nightly at 9PM on ITV2 and ITV Hub.
