Yesterday saw a dramatic shake up in the villa that ended with one contestant being eliminated.

Fresh from five exits earlier this week – with Lucie & George, Danny & Jourdan and Amy all leaving – a surprise text arrived in the villa this evening.

It read: “Islanders. Tonight, there will a recoupling in which the girls will decide who they want to couple up with. The boy not picked to be in a couple will be dumped from the Island. #everymanforhimself #taxiforone.”

Here’s how the recoupling and results went…

Molly-Mae Haguecoupled up with Tommy Fury.

Belle Hassan coupled up with Anton Danyluk.

Amber Gill coupled up with Ovie Soko (as friends).

Maura Higgins coupled up with Chris Taylor.

Therefore, Marvin Brooks was left single and he was dumped from the villa.

Speaking after his exit, he said of his stay in the villa: “It was definitely a lot longer than I expected! In terms of finding someone romantically, I found it difficult but in terms of friendship, I had a brilliant time! It was unbelievable.”

He said of his romance with Maura after the pair got together in Casa Amor: “I have no idea why it fizzled out! We just went our separate ways and I think that may have been because of the problems Amy and Curtis were having, who she had her eye on.

“She gave me the opportunity to come into the Villa and in this Recoupling, she gave someone else an opportunity by coupling up with them.”

Marvin tipped Tommy and Molly-Mae to go all the way and win.

He said: “They are acting like a couple who’ve been together for years. They’re so comfortable with each other. It’s really nice to see. I’m starting to see Michael and Joanna getting really close and they’re starting to show those signs. Those couples are the strongest for me.”
