Love Island star Alex George has landed a presenting gig on ITV’s This Morning.
Dr Alex was unlucky in love in the villa, never really hitting it off with any of the girls.
He ended up coupling with Alexandra Cane before the pair were eliminated in the week before the final.
But while his personal life may not be working out, professionally things are looking good for Alex.
Alex has confirmed he’s lined up to join This Morning after confessing he wanted to do more ‘TV Doctor’ work.
He announced on Friday: “Next week Dr Hilary is away, the fantastic Dr Hilary, so I’m very excited to say that I’m going to be stepping into his very big shoes for the week, and doing my very best. I’m really excited!”
Dr Alex said of his new role: “I’m really look forward to it. I’m very passionate about my job, I love medicine, I love health and wellbeing, I’m really excited to have that opportunity to talk about topics…
“I’m passionate about the job. Of course I’m going to be going back to the NHS, but in the meantime, I really hope that I can use the platform that I have to talk about things that are topical and effect people in everyday life…
“Particularly the younger generation – things relating to sexual health, mental health, body image… all kind of topics that I’d really like to discuss and talk to young people about.”
But he added: “I definitely want to go back to A&E once the time is right.”
It was Jack and Dani who won love Island 2018 last month with over 80% of the vote.
Rivals Laura & Paul were runners up, Josh & Kaz finished in third and Wes & Megan ended the series in 4th place.
The show will be back next summer for a fifth series.
