Liberty Poole and Jake Cornish quit Love Island 2021 in the latest episode.
With just days to go before the final, the pair decided to pack up their bags and leave after splitting up in Thursday’s instalment.
Having been coupled up since the first day, there were emotional scenes as they ended their relationship ahead of Monday night’s final.
Last night saw the pair head out for what was meant to be a final epic date where they decided to depart the villa together.
In Friday evening’s show, Jake and Liberty went out on their date on a luxurious boat. Jake said: “Here we are then. Our perfect date we’ve always spoken about. You look beautiful today.”
Reflecting on their relationship, Liberty said: “I don’t know what happened along the way but the spark just faded.”
Jake added: “On my behalf I felt the affection died out. That’s a big thing for me and that’s nothing against you as a person.”
Liberty continued: “I’m not going to lie – I did fall in love with you. And at one point I thought I had found the one but once the honeymoon passes you start seeing the cracks.”
Later they returned to the villa and asked the other Islanders to gather at the fire pit.
Liberty then shared: “We’ve both come to the conclusion its best for us to go our separate ways and we’re going to leave the villa together.
“We don’t want to be here and take up a place when you guys are all strong couples. It’s meant to be a happy time and we don’t want to drain the life out of your guys relationships so we’re going to pack and go.”
Last night Liberty was in tears after an emotional split from Jake.
She told Faye: “I’ve got to be true to myself. Jake’s an absolutely great guy but I just don’t think we’re right for each other.”
Liberty later told Jake: “I just don’t feel like that you love me for me and I want someone who loves me for me.”
Liberty suggested that the pair just weren’t right for each other as Jake asked: “What we saying then, are we saying we’ll go our separate ways then?”
“I hope you find someone who suits you better,” Liberty said as the pair hugged things out and ended their relationship.
Love Island continues nightly at 9PM on ITV2 and ITV Hub with the final next Monday night.
