This week’s X Factor 2018 results have caused another noisy reaction online.
The X Factor went live for the second time this weekend with a ‘Guilty Pleasures’ theme.
Two acts were eliminated in the X Factor 2018 results last night as both Janice Robinson and LMA Choir got the boot.
Janice was automatically sent home after polling the least public votes while LMA Choir faced Brendan Murray in the sing-off after receiving the next fewest votes from viewers.
After they sang again, the judges decided who to save with Louis Tomlinson and Ayda Williams sending home LMA Choir and Robbie Williams and Simon Cowell sending home Brendan. With the judges’ vote tied, it went back to the public poll where LMA Choir had the fewest votes.
It was quite the surprise outcome, given boy band United Vibe had been the hot favourites to go before the show.
One viewer posted to Twitter: “LMA choir and janice deserved to stay in the competition while gio and united vibes exist. i said what i said #xfactor”
Another raged: “I’m going to ask AGAIN, who the f**k is voting for United Vibe and acts like the LMA Choir have to go home #xfactor”
“I did NOT see the #XFactor Results coming who is voting for United Vibe? They needed to go home like a week ago,” added a third.
Despite the complaints, clearly there are some fans out there (somewhere) that kept the group out of the bottom three.
Meanwhile, the sing-off result itself also received plenty of criticism.
“Personally think LMA choir should go through ???? #XFactor,” one viewer wrote online.
Another agreed: “Brendan should have went! #XFactor LMA Choir is better vocally.”
And a third concluded: “Can’t believe LMA Choir are going home! They were so brilliant x #XFactor”
But again, it was all down to the viewer votes so there’s little room to complain..
The X Factor 2018 returns next Saturday at 8:35PM on ITV with a ‘Fright Night’ theme for Halloween.
The third results show will air at the later time of 8:30PM on the Sunday, November 4 with guest performances from One Direction’s Liam Payne and former X Factor winner James Arthur.
