Joe Swash has been confirmed for the 2020 Dancing On Ice line up.
The TV presenter is the ninth of twelve celebrities to be confirmed.
Joe, who recently stepped down from hosting I’m A Celebrity’s Extra Camp spin-off show, appeared live on Loose Women to confirm the news this afternoon.
Joe will now don his skates, alongside eleven other celebrities, in a bid to become champion of the ice.
On joining the show, Joe said “I can’t even dance on a dance floor so Dancing on Ice is just a silly idea!”
After recently welcoming a new son with partner Stacey Solomon, he added: “I’ve done no exercise since the baby was born. Stacey thinks it’s funny. I’m going to learn how to skate and I’ll do it with a smile on my face.”
TV presenter Joe is the latest name on the confirmed line up, joining TV entertainer Michael Barrymore, Love Island’s Maura Higgins, footballer Kevin Kilbane, ITV newsreader Lucrezia Millarini, Steps singer Ian ‘H’ Watkins, soap star Lisa George and Diversity dancer Perri Kiely.
Also confirmed today was Paralympic sprinter Libby Clegg who won the silver medal at London 2012 before getting gold at Rio 2016.
She appeared live on Victoria Derbyshire (BBC Two) to confirm the news.
Libby, alongside her guide dog Hattie, said: “After Rio I achieved my ultimate goal and then I thought ‘what else can I do?’ This opportunity came about and I couldn’t pass it up. I love challenging myself and experiencing new things.”
Further celebrities will be confirmed over the coming days.
Dancing On Ice will return on TV on ITV in the New Year.
Each week the twelve celebrities will skate live with their professional partners in a bid to impress both the panel and the viewers, who will ultimately decide who wins the show.
This year sees John Barrowman join Torvill and Dean and Ashley Banjo on the panel.
Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby once again return to present the show.
