ITV is to launch brand new streaming service ITVX in the UK later this December, it’s been announced.
Replacing ITV Hub, the streaming service will home most of ITV’s newest shows months before they air on TV with the service also promising documentaries, US series, comedy and reality shows and blockbuster films.
ITVX will officially launch on Thursday, 8 December 2022
Shows set to premiere on the service include A Spy Among Friends, starring Damian Lewis and Guy Pearce, Nolly starring Helena Bonham Carter, Confessions of Frannie Langton starring Karla-Simone Spence, Sophie Cookson and Patrick Martins, Lenny Henry’s six part drama The Little Birds and Litvinenko starring David Tennant.
Also announced is drama Riches, teen drama Tell Me Everything and feature-film Plebs: Soldiers of Rome.
As well as shows premiering exclusively on the new service, ITVX will also offer full series of ITV shows as soon as the first episode airs on TV. These include new drama Stonehouse and the upcoming new series of Unforgotten.
All the new shows will be joined by the likes of Broadchurch, Love Island, Victoria, A Confession and Quiz which will all be a part of 200+ series available at launch.
Alongside the UK shows, ITVX will stream a number of international series including The Sex Lives of College Girls and All American, Astrid & Lilly Save the World, Dramaworld as well as classics such as The OC, One Tree Hill and select series of The 100, Supernatural and Veronica Mars.
At launch there will also be 250+ films on offer for a total of 9,000 hours of content.
ITVX will also stream all ITV’s channels live, just like ITV Hub does now.
ITVX will be offered for free with adverts or an ad-free with a paid subscription. Paid subscribers will also have access to BritBox which showcases the biggest streaming collection of UK series from BBC, Channel 4 and Channel 5.
