Gemma Collins denies she’s quitting Dancing On Ice and hits back at ‘diva’ claims

Gemma Collins has denied reports that she is threatening to quit Dancing On Ice.

It was claimed this week that Gemma wanted off the show, following rumours of ‘diva’ behaviour.

But she’s hit back at the suggestion, and accused people of trying to ‘sabotage’ her chances on the ice.

Taking to her social media today, Gemma spoke out about the reports with pro partner Matt Evers.

She told her fans: “It’s been such a tough week for myself and @themattevers we are all for the pantomime and the laughs but our hard work will not be questioned … this was always going to come along at some point.

“It’s a competition and WE WILL NOT SABOTAGED poor @themattevers had been in tears and so have I. WE WILL NOT BE BROKEN we are carrying on and actually despite all the nasty rumours we are loving this.”

Gemma added in a follow up video: “Good morning everyone. I’m not giving up. I’m not quitting. I’ve got the shakes where I’ve been so upset… The reason I haven’t been on social media is because me and Matt have been so upset.

“We were shell shocked and we didn’t know what to do. We’ve been heartbroken.”

Matt has also spoke up to defend Gemma, denying the ‘diva’ claims from the weekend.

It had been reported that Gemma missed rehearsals after taking a nap and then left Sunday’s show before the end of filming.

“Gemma did not take a nap, [as was claimed]. We’re there first thing in the morning on Sunday. We do camera blocking, then a dress rehearsal,” he told ITV’s Lorraine in Gemma’s defence. “So by the time the show hits at 6pm, you are exhausted.”

He added of her ‘early exit’ on Sunday evening: “She got a text saying, ‘your car has arrived’. So she went. She asked someone first. I’m not sure who.”

Dancing On Ice continues Sunday nights at 6PM on ITV.
