Gemma Collins has said she will return to Dancing On Ice for the final despite comments made by Jason Gardiner.
The TOWIE star hit out at Jason last week, accusing him of ‘bullying’ her over remarks he made on ITV’s This Morning.
Jason appeared on the show to talk with hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield about tonight’s upcoming Dancing On Ice final.
When they quizzed him on Gemma’s return, Jason quipped: “Oh who?”, before remarking of the ‘GC’: “I thought that was a refrigerator.”
The ice judge, who clashed with Gemma live on air when she was competing in the show, added: “I’m over it. I don’t hold a grudge, I don’t really know the woman.
“And in one final there are enough things to be worried about.”
Gemma quickly took to social media to hit back at Jason.
She wrote: “I’m really tired of being BULLIED by this man …. I wish you would stop ….. it’s very very upsetting and hurtful let it go Jason stop bullying me ENOUGH is ENOUGH I won’t be bullied any more making me feel uncomfortable to come back to the final on Sunday !”
She added: “I was looking forward to Sunday but won’t be anywhere near someone who’s BULLYING me …. this is NOT ACCEPTABLE on any level comparing any human to an electrical appliance is not acceptable #STANDUPTOBULLIES”
But speaking on The Jonathan Ross Show on Friday, Gemma had a change of mind about ‘quitting’ the final.
She said: “The only reason i went back at him is because he went personal to me about my weight.
“He called me a refrigerator. Do you know what, I did pull out…and then I thought, for everyone that’s supported me, for my own self esteem, I’m gonna walk back into that show and i’m gonna skate like its the last day of my life.”
However Jason hit back on Twitter, saying: “I was not calling Gemma a refrigerator it was meant as a light hearted joke when Phillip said the “GC” which sounds like a white goods brand.
“What has happened to having a SoH?”
While Jason didn’t have much to say about Gemma, he heaped praise on this year’s finalists.
X Factor singer Saara Aalto, Love Island’s Wes Nelson and former Strictly pro James Jordan are all left competing for the title this weekend.
Jason said of James: “He had to unlearn years and years of habits of being a top dancer to learn to skate.”
And on Wes, he added: “Wes I really like. He is a natural. He doesn’t have the same fears as people who are a bit older about falling on the ice. He’s 20 so he bounces back, he has resilience.
“Had he started younger, it could have been a different story for Wes. He didn’t have any dance background or skate background. He’s really applied himself.”
The Dancing On Ice 2019 final airs this Sunday night on ITV.
