Eurovision 2018 results: UK finish in 24th place as Israel win

Eurovision 2018 results! Where did the UK come?

The Eurovision 2018 results are in but where did the UK entry finish tonight?

Commented on by Graham Norton and broadcast live on BBC One, the qualifying acts from the semi-finals plus performers from Portugal, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the United Kingdom, performed in the grand final of the 63rd Eurovision Song Contest tonight live from Lisbon.

SuRie represented the UK with her song Storm, written by Nicole Blair, Gil Lewis and Sean Hargreaves.

She finished in 24th spot tonight with 48 points after the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest, hosted by Silvia Alberto, Filomena Cautela, Catarina Furtado, and Daniela Ruah.

SuRie had a total of 23 points from the juries of the 43 countries involved, and 25 points from viewers across Europe (and Australia), leaving her just above bottom of the leaderboard.

It was a big drop from last year, where Lucie Jones finished 15th, but unfortunately on a par with both 2016 and 2015.

Highs included 8 points from the jury of Israel whereas lows saw no points from our neighbours Ireland.

The winner of the competition was Israel, who scored a total of 529 points from juries and viewers.

Ireland finished 16th with 136 points.

During the live show, a stage invader disrupted SuRie’s UK Eurovision performance. A seemingly politically motivated protestor rushed at SuRie and tried to grab her microphone.

At one point, SuRie lost her microphone but eventually got it back and continued to finish the song.

Eurovision bosses offered SuRie the chance to perform again following the altercation but she declined.

The BBC said: “SuRie and her team are extremely proud of her performance and have together decided that there is absolutely no reason to perform the song again.”

The madness that is the Eurovision Song Contest will return next year.
