Emily Atack has revealed she was dropped from The Inbetweeners’ reunion show this week.
Hit E4 series The Inbetweeners will celebrate it 10th anniversary with a special this evening, New Year’s Day at 9PM on Channel 4.
The original gang of four – Simon Bird (Will), James Buckley (Jay), Joe Thomas (Simon) and Blake Harrison (Neil) – will be back together for one night only for a two hour studio show celebrating 10 years of futile teenage crushes, clunge, fwends and a lot of drinking as we look back on one of the most iconic sitcoms of recent years.
Featuring behind the scenes VTs, the story behind the show, surprise guests, celebrity fans, unseen footage and plenty of embarrassing stories, E4 say that The Inbetweeners 10th Birthday Party will be the ultimate treat for fans.
However Emily – who played Charlotte ‘Big Jugs’ Hinchcliffe – will not be a part of the show.
“Unfortunately, I don’t really know what happened there,” she told Capital FM. “I was booked to do it, was very much looking forward to doing it and then the day before I was told I was no longer needed for it.”
She added: “It’s alright these things do happen and I think they just decided to go a different route with it, I don’t know, or it was to do with production timings and things.
“These things do happen and they’re just doing a different route I think and I wish them all the best and I know it’s going to be great and the fans won’t be disappointed.”
Emily, who was runner up on I’m A Celebrity last year, added: “It was all very professional and it’s just business. It happens all the time.
“You get booked to do something and then something happens, plans change and then sometimes you’re not booked anymore.”
The Inbetweeners: Fwends Reunited will air tonight, New Year’s Day (Tuesday, January 1) at 9pm on Channel 4.
