Dancing On Ice’s Wes Nelson and Vanessa Bauer have been hard at work in training for this Sunday’s show.
The pair have been working up a sweat as they attempt to keep up with the competition and win a place in next weekend’s Quarter Finals.
This week, they embarked on a gym work out session as they aim to strengthen up ahead of a dreaded double elimination.
For their latest skate, Wes and Vanessa will be skating to Jealous by Labyrinth, during which two couples leave the show.
Wes recently denied that he and Vanessa were together following his split from fellow Love Island star Megan Barton Hanson.
“We are absolutely not an item,” he said. “It is purely professional, she is work work and train train – there’s nothing like that, nothing will ever be.”
Appearing on ITV’s This Morning, Wes admitted that Megan was unhappy with him taking part in the ice skating competition.
“This is what I was trying to explain when in our relationship, I can’t say: ‘Wait there and I’ll do Dancing On Ice, I can’t spend any quality time with you, wait there for me.'” he explained. “If something is making you unhappy and that upset and down and I said: ‘Who am I to say keep being sad.’
“I think Megan does wish I didn’t do Dancing On Ice, purely because we wanted a simple type of life after Love Island.”
Wes continued: “I’m very career-driven, and after the show, I thought all these opportunities… it would be silly not to take them all…
“Then on the flip side of that, it’s supposed to be the most exiting point in a relationship the first weeks and months, it’s the best part, all the dates, that was missed.”
Alongside Wes & Vanessa, those left on the Dancing On Ice line up include singer Brian McFadden & pro skater Alex Murphy and cricketer Ryan Sidebottom & his professional skater Brandee Malto
They’re joined by Pussycat Doll Melody Thornton & her pro skater Alexander Demetriou, and Strictly Come Dancing pro James Jordan & Alexander Demetriou
Also back on the ice this week will be former Strictly Come Dancing pro James Jordan & her pro partner Alexandra Schauman, Coronation Street’s Jane Danson & skater Sylvain Longchambon and finally, X Factor’s Saara Aalto & pro skater Hamish Gaman.
Dancing On Ice 2019 continues this Sunday night at 6PM on ITV.
